About the Prestigious Heart Fund
The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example. Over 35 years ago, visionary and car aficionado Irv David, embarked on the journey to bring his ideals and visions to actuality creating Prestige Imports. Before Prestige Imports became what it is today, the dealership started from a gas station that Mr. David owned which evolved into an automotive empire. Mr. David envisioned selling more than just the typical vehicle, he wanted to take a risk and invest his time and energy on what was at the time an untapped market. His incredible drive and enthusiasm paid off and he was able to make his dream a reality.
In January of 2007, Irv David unfortunately passed away from a heart attack and the legacy of Mr. David and Prestige Imports was bequeathed upon his son Brett David. David, raised around the grandeur of his father's business started working from the bottom up, quickly learning the ins and outs of the dealership down to even the most minuscule detail. Armed with vivid memories and a lifetime of example from his father, David at 19 years old marched onward toward his future as the successor of Prestige Imports.
David, contributes his father's heart attack to years of induced stress from the business. Mr. David endured three heart attacks prior before his forth claimed his life. Over exposure to stressful environments can have a severe affect on both a person's mental and physical health. Stress itself can tamper with a person's behavior causing high blood pressure or a need to indulge in vices including smoking, over eating and physical inactivity. Learning to manage one's stress may help ease lifestyle changes and ultimately reducing the risk for heart attack or stroke. The passing of Mr. David is unfortunate and raised the question, if Mr. David would have been proactive practicing heart healthy initiatives would his father still be alive today?
Two years later, now at 21 years old, Brett David, Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Lamborghini Miami, Lamborghini Palm Beach, Prestige Audi and Prestige Imports, is moving speedily through his future of an empire enriched with his father's legacy and his personal aspirations. Embracing the traditional ideals of the business created over 35 years ago from David's late father, while incorporating his youthful edge has proven to be the recipe of success for the dealerships. David has obtained number one rankings in the world for both his Lamborghini Miami and Prestige Audi dealerships, and was granted the exclusive honor of being Dealer Principal of Lamborghini Palm Beach, the flagship store for Lamborghini in the United States. Trapped between the brilliance of the accomplishments of his businesses and the difficulties of success at such a young age, the young entrepreneur aspires to create a direction aimed to inspire America's youth.
David, has been involved in several non profit and charitable organizations through the years, but nothing touched home to him more than cardiovascular issues. The unfortunate passing of Irv David affected all of the employees in the dealership. After David saw the effect on his employees and realized that some have dealt or are personally dealing with the same loss as him, he decided to develop a non profit fund in memory of his father and to honor all those who have lost a loved one to a heart related condition.
In 2009, David went to work with his marketing department to develop a fund in memory of his father. David teamed up with the American Heart Association to develop the Prestigious Heart Fund, a non profit fund focused to promote healthy heart awareness so that other friends and families can begin to promote and live a heart healthy lifestyle. The Prestigious Heart Fund, established in honor of Irv David- former CEO of Prestige Imports/Lamborghini Miami and led by Brett David, was created to establish awareness of the fatal effects of heart disease and stroke. This fund will help implement programs to reduce cardiovascular disease and stroke risk factors through funding vital life saving research in the fields of cardiology & neurology, Healthy Schools Program, Go Red Sundays: Power to End Stroke. David firmly believes if he would have been proactive in convincing his father to adapt his lifestyle centered for heart health, he may have been able to prevent what occurred in the end. David has been proactive in his lifestyle and practices his own stress management conducive to his hectic and stressful lifestyle that most 21 year olds do not experience. The opportunity to give back to others some of his knowledge gained from his experience is priceless to David, his personal goal is to inspire others through this fund and his ability to fight through the adversity.
